An inspiring festival on the shores of beautiful Loch Sunart.

Flash Fiction Winners

We had a great response to this competition which was judged by Peter Urpeth of Hi-Arts.

The high standard of entries to both the adult and junior sections made Peter's job a tricky one but the winners, announced at various events over the course of the weekend were as follows:

Adult winner 'Bed and Breakfast' by Mr. J Davies
Adult 2nd prize 'A Midsummer Night's Opera' by J. Dove

Junior winner 'Adopted' by K. Bradley
Junior 2nd prize 'Winter Scare' by M. Ross

Thanks to all who entered for their literary efforts!

Something to whet the appetite...

The Three Lochs Book and Arts Festival in association with Scottish Food and Drink Fortnight, is proud to present some of the finest local ingredients over the course of the weekend.

THURSDAY 16th sees an Iranian-themed evening for the showing of "A Time For Drunken Horses" with a local twist on middle-eastern cusine to... tempt your tastebuds.

At FRIDAY'S "Evening of Uisge Beatha" there will be taster plates for sale, showcasing the very best of local produce to go with your dram.

SATURDAY'S lunchtime fayre continues the local theme and the evening barbecue wouldn't be complete without venison from Kingairloch Estate.

The inaugural Three Lochs Book and Arts Festival really will feature something for all ages.
As well as a special guest appearance by international best-selling author, Alexander McCall Smith, we'll have an exciting Live Literature event, Tom Morton's Malt & Barley Revue, schools workshops, a writers' workshop and a chance to get involved with the local reading group. We're also delighted to have secured a session from Bardic Crown winner Angus Peter Campbell as he celebrates the publication of his first English language novel.

With the focus firmly on local talent, there'll be live music and an open mic session to keep visitors entertained over the course of the weekend.

And as if that wasn't enough, the local cinema club will be curating a series of films during the festival, including a children's screening.
